Cluttered cupboards and fridge? Heres how i organize mine

Tuesday 25 April 2017
Hey guys,
This post is all about how i organize my fridge and cupboards. To be honest i didn't even think about how they were organized until i had kayden. I needed to access items quickly, because a crying baby/toddler who is demanding is not willing to wait. I also saw a show on tv which discussed the importance of placing items in your fridge in the appropriate place. This ensures that the items stay fresh for longer and don't absorb any excess odors.
Im going to start with my fridge. Because i live in an apartment i don't have the luxury of buying my own appliances. As a result my fridge is smaller then the average one, which makes being organized even more important.
On the side of the fridge i put easy to access items. Items that i use daily but not multiple times a day. I keep my creamers all together as well as syrup for Kayden's milk. Curtis likes flavored creamer and i prefer half and half.  Kayden recently got more into flavored milk, which is why i have syrup. I don't buy juice since no one really drink it in the house but i also don't was deprive kayden of sweet drinks.

Beside that compartment i have Kayden's easy access snacks. Kayden Is obsessed with cheeses so i always try to have cheese strings for him. I love them because they are easy for him to eat and they they are portion controlled. Kayden goes back and forth with yogurt (right now he wants nothing to do with it). I always keep condiments there. Because easter just happened i have a stash of chocolate there. Our apartment is hot and all the chocolate will melt if i leave it out. So i put all his chocolate bars there and moved his snacks to other parts in the fridge.

I have a butter compartment on top and beside that i keep condiments from when we order food.
On the bottom shelf i keep
all my dairy products i.e. milk, cheese and yogurt. I learned that dairy products absorb the smell in your fridge, therefore keeping it on the bottom shelf ensures that this doesn't happen.

On the middle shelf i keep leftover food and meats. This shelf is used numerous times in the day and is accessed by only me. Because curtis works 5x a week i pack his lunch and i heat up Kayden's and i lunch (since we are at home). I also do all the cooking so this is a convenient place for it. The top shelf is where i like to keep our drinks and condiments which we don't use often. I keep the condiments at the back (mayo, relish etc.) And i keep the milk, water, beer and wine on the top shelf. Those are items we access numerous times a day. Kayden loves milk and curtis loves cold water.

As you can see there are some food dishes on the top shelf. This doesn't normally happen, but i made a lasagna last week and the tray is taking up half of my shelf.

My cupboard are a bit different. I place items based on how often i access them. On the bottom shelf i have all of Kayden's snacks on the left side. Kayden has at least 2 snacks a day and as he is getting older abd more active sometimes he needs 2 items instead of 1. I have all his snack within easy access so when he is fussing i can grab them fast. The middle if the shelf has all my spices. I grew up in a culture where spices were used in everything and im so thankful that curtis grew up the same way. I always have spices ready to go and i buy them at bulk barn which means i geta great deal! On the far right side i have curtis's and I snacks, which is usually crackers and granola bars (nothing exciting).

The middle shelf is where i keep my baking ingredients ( obsessed) as well as my sprinkles and baking cups. I like to bake once a week for a special homemade treat but during the summer months, i so it even less. It gets so hot in the apartment that isn't worth it. Beside that i keep my cans and sauces. I always like to be stocked up on the essentials ( beans, hot sauce and beans). On the far right i keep all my teas and medicine. I use this area more then anyone in the house. I love having tea and is a great alternative to coffee when you want the warmth of a drink without all the caffeine

The top shelf is where i keep the items i rarely use, maybe once a week (if you are lucky). I keep cornstarch, pancake mix and pasta.

I admit organizing your cupboards and fridge is not fun. But once you do it the first time, it is easier to keep it up , and you will tha k yourself later. Everyone's cupboards sill be different based on what their needs are. As kayden gets older and as our family needs change im sure mine will!

Philosophy Cleanser Review

Monday 17 April 2017
Hey guys
Im back with another beauty review. I got a sample for purity made simple foaming 3 in 1 cleansing job for face and eyes. I have heard so much about the philosophy line. I have heard many beauty bloggers and youtubers rave about this brand, so when i received it, i was excited.
My skin is all over the place. In the fall/winter months, i have dry skin all over. In the spring/summer i have combination skin. I am oily and have dry patches around my mouth. It is really hard for me to find products that work. I have had reactions to products in the past, so i am very cautious when it comes to new products. I need a cleanser that is gentle on my skin, feels clean and is able to take off my makeup.

This product claims to leave your skin feeling fresh and clean while being able to remove all your makeup ( face, eyes and lips).

My verdict?? Its absolutely amazing. I took a shower with all my makeup on and used the cleanser at the end. It removed every little bit of makeup. There was a slight fragrance, which wasnt overwhelming. The cleanser was gel like and glided smoothly on the skin. After applying it, my skin felt clean and there was no tightness.

I love this product because it truly is a 1 step product. I don't feel the need to remove any makeup prior to using this and the fact that it takes everything off without any stinging or irritation says a lot.  As a mom i am looking for products that save time and get the job done and this does it. A small amount goes a long way ( i regret using as much as i did) which is amazing since this product is a bit pricey. With that being said it will last you a long time, so I would recommend investing in this product.

Kayden's Easter Basket

Monday 10 April 2017
Hey guys
Easter is just around the corner and im so excited about it. Every year that kayden gets older he is grasping the concept of holidays which makes it more fun. If you haven't read my other holiday posts, i will start off by saying that curtis and i are big believers in celebrating the true meaning of holidays. What that means, is we want to remind kayden and teach him why we celebrate it, and that it is not about the presents and the commercialized aspects of it. We want to enforce the importance of family and being grateful for all of our blessings.
Last easter kayden was only a year old, so he didn't understand what was going on. So we made him a tiny basket with chocolate and candy. This year is different. He is recognizing everything in the store and knows about God etc. Kayden has a lot more interest in Easter, so i wanted to make it more exciting for him.
This year i looked up some easter basket ideas. I didn't want to fill up his basket with candy and junk, so i decided to see what other moms were doing. One of the things i loved was seeing how the fun spring themed ideas.
Here are some things i saw
Chalk
Bubbles
Kite
Seeds for plants
Gardening tools
Toy makeup

I loved the idea of getting children excited for spring. We live in an apartment so a lot of times if we want to do anything we need to leave. We already have tons of bubbles since kayden is obsessed and we have nowhere to do chalk. I did look into getting seeds for him to plant but by the time i got stuff for his easter basket i realized i had enough.
This year i got kayden 2 activity packs which are paw patrol and peppa pig themed. Each pack comes with crayons, stencils, stickers and a coloring book. I also got an activity book that is spring themed. We went to costco on the weekend and i love their selection of books. We picked up 2 books for kayden, once again paw patrol and peppa pig (can you tell he is obsessed!?) I realized the paw patrol book is to big and wouldn't fit in his basket so i decided to set the Peppa pig book aside and put it in his basket. Luckily, he didn't remember. Now onto the candy, i will start off by saying that kayden wont eat half of it. We went to bulk barn to pick it up, so i could get what i needed. I picked up chocolate Cadbury eggs and spring themed smarties. I picked up enough to bake with and to put some in his easter eggs. I also got a chocolate bunny that's holding a football since he is obsessed with it. Kayden also saw a small pack of chocolates (once again spring themed) and picked it out himself.

Kayden's Spring clothing haul

Monday 3 April 2017
Hey Guys

Even though it is officially spring, the weather is telling me otherwise. As any well prepared mother, i finished all of Kayden's spring shopping since the begining of march.
Like any mom, I am all about shopping on a budget while getting bang for my buck. Twice a year my boyfriend gets three paychecks in a month.  It is during those months that I always do two big hauls for Kayden. This is in addition to picking up things throughout the year. I thought i would share with you, what i picked up, as well as my shopping tips.
I shop online, part of why is because i have had bad luck finding kayden's size in stores. I find when you shop online there is bigger inventory, which increases the chances of you getting the size you need. Before the season starts i will casually shop. For instance spring didn't start till March but in February i was looking at things.
Two sites i am always on is osh kosh and the children's place. What i love doing is making wish lists. I go through and see what i like, and add it to my wish list in the correct size. Every week i check the new arrivals and check my wish list to see if Kayden's size sold out. When i am going to do a haul i look at which store has the better sale. I add everything to my shopping cart. If i feel as though its to expensive i remove the items which i feel aren't a necessity.
Kayden gets extremely hot, even in the winter, so i buy clothing that has light material. As well, when your child grows, their necessities change. For instance, Kayden needs undershirts and sunglasses since his eyes are sensitive to the Sun.
Kayden wears size 3T for awhile now, which is shocking to me because he just turned 2.5. For kayden in terms of clothing he just needs shorts and t shirts. I know with girls there's more variety, shorts, skirts and dresses etc. I like to keep kayden in neutral colors because i feel that's what he looks the best in, so blue, black and grey, but i do keep him on trend and add in some bright colors.

Here is what I picked up

Sorry about the pictures coming put sidewise, i dont know why it did that. I got these t shirts from walmart. They were all cute and i couldn't resist!! I got them in a size 3T.

I got these items from the childrens place. Shorts were a must for Kayden so i got neutral colors that i was able to mix and match with.

These two tshirts were from last year. They were way to big for me so i am hoping i am able to get some use out of them.
This was a christmas present from Curtis's friend. It is super cute ang right up curtis style.

I hope all of this is enough clothes for Kayden to last through the summer. I hope my tips and tricks help you out!!
