How to keep on top of cleaning

Monday 29 May 2017
Hey Guys,

People always told me, as Kayden gets older it'll get easier. They couldn't have been more wrong. I am just as exhausted, and busy. I had such a hard time keeping up with the house, that i felt like giving up. I know this seems minor, but lets be honest, how much better do you feel when the house is clean and organized? Exactly.
I needed to figure out how to keep my house livable without adding more to my plate. I decided to have a cleaning schedule. Kayden has his daily chores, so why not me? To be honest, it has made everything easier. Granted my boyfriend does help out and does a scrub down every once in awhile which helps me out a lot.

Monday
This day is all about the bedrooms. I am lucky i only have 2, but it still feels like a lot. In the master bedroom i put all the clothes away that may have accumulated over the weekend. I hang clothes back up in the closest, fold and put away clothes in our drawers.
Twice a month i will wash down the windows and windowsills. Kayden has a table which holds pictures of his family. I will also wipe it down.

Tuesday
On this day i clean the bathroom. This room is the dirtiest in the house and a room i cant hide from. We have guests visiting all the time and with kayden potty training it is in constant use. I wash down the mirrors, counter, sink, cupboards and toilet. Curtis does the bathtub and floors since i have scoliosis, and cant bend over for long.
A few times a month i will clean kaydens toilet seat. Every once in awhile he gets pee in the crevices, so a wipe down ensures there is no dried up pee.

Wednesday
This is my quieter day. This is when i do the living room and entry way. I put away all the extra shoes that have accumulated since monday. I wipe down all our electronics (TV, Xbox, fan) our pictures on the wall, side tables and of course our windowsills.

Thursday
The dreaded kitchen. Everyday i wipe down our counters, stove and cupboards. On thursday i tackle the fridge. Because i reserve friday for leftovers, i like to go through and see what we have. i throw away food that has gone bad and wipe down the fridge. Its great timing as well because we do groceries on saturday so i declutter and reorganize everything a few days before.

Friday
This day is a lazy whatever happens happens kind of day. I don't have a specific room i need to clean. Because i have been cleaning throughout the week the only rooms that need touching up is the master bedroom and bathroom. I tidy up here and there but for the most part everything is in its place.

I use Pine sol to clean because it is an all in one. I love that it disinfects and i can also use it on the floors, counters and sinks. I love having one product to grab instead of hauling around a bunch of different cleaning supplies.
This schedule has made my life much easier. I know what it priority to clean and for the most part, I do keep on top of it. It allows me to do a little hit each day without becoming overwhelmed.

Juice Beauty Green Apple skin brightening moisturizer with SPF Review

Tuesday 23 May 2017
Hey Guys,

Awhile ago I received a sample for Juice Beauty Green apple skin brightening moisturizer with SPF. It took me awhile to test it out because i am hesitant with facial products as I have had bad experiences. I finally gave it a try a few months ago and fell in love.
This moisturizer has a little bit of everything for everyone. It is vegan friendly and free of sulphates, phthalates and parabens.

The claims
Provide broad spectrum sun protection
Organic fruit antioxidants hydrate and smooth skin

My review
When i intially used the product the scent was a distraction. It smelled like medicine which almost made me not use it. If you are able to get past that aspect then you will love this product. It claims to be light but i do not think so, which made me fall in love with it. At the time i had dry skin and none of my moisturizers were working for me. I was embarrassed to go out with no makeup on because i felt my dry skin would stand out. I tried this product by itself (no makeup) and with makeup. Both times it was amazing. As always i put way to much on and it took me awhile to find the right amount. A pea sized amount goes a long way. Because it is so thick my skin instantly felt relief. It did take awhile to soak in, but that may have been because i lathered it on. I loved how moisturized my skin felt and i didn't need to reapply it, like i was doing with my other moisturizers.
When I tried it under makeup it was amazing. It had the perfect amount of stickiness so it acted like a primer as well. My makeup looked flawless and lasted a long time.
I absolutely loved this product (minus the scent). For how it made my skin feel, i could disregard the scent.
This product is perfect for anyone that has dry skin and needs relief. It kept me moisturized all day with the added protection of SPF.
It retails for $48 for 2oz. It is pricey but I also have not seen a moisturizer give my skin what it needed in a long time.

Rating
I would give this moisturizer a 8 out of 10.  I do think it is pricey which may not make it accessible for everyone. The scent as well can off putting, and does not smell like Green Apple at all.

The best ever solution for dry overprocessed hair

Monday 15 May 2017
Hey Guys,

Nothing is worse on your hair then heat and humidity. With the warmer weather creeping up on us, i couldn't help but get a jump start on using hair serums. I don't use them much in the fall and winter months since my hair tends to be more tame. I was extremely excited when Dove sent me a sample of their Regenerative Nourishment serum in oil, which is part of their advanced hair series line.
As women we do a lot to our hair, whether it is using styling tools and/or coloring our hair, goes through a lot. We cant help but put some damage on our hair.

The Claims
If you use it with their 3 step system it will make your hair appear 100% damage free
Makes your hair more manageable and stronger
Brings softness and shine
Fights split ends and breakage

My review
I have recently gotten partial highlights in my hair. As a result the top of my hair looks frizzy. I have had a hard time trying to find a product that will tame this, without me needing to wash my hair everyday. I love hair serums. I have always felt that they help me tame my frizz even when my hair isn't colored. As you all know i love the Dove hair line and what it does for my hair.
The smallest amount of this product goes a long way. After one use my hair was the softest it has ever felt. I used this product prior to me getting a haircut (which i was in desperate need of) and it made it feel so smooth and undamaged. I was using shampoo's which claimed to help with damaged/overprocessed hair, but nothing helped till i used this serum. It brought life back to my hair. As i mentioned, I was not using it with their shampoo abd conditioner and it still worked wonders, so I can only imagine what it would do if i did use the entire line.
The smallest amount goes a long way. If you use to much your roots will look greasy once your hair dries, which was an issue for me. Because it has oil in it, it can make your hair look greasy if you so not use a tiny amount.

The price of this product is $6.97 canadian, which is reasonable.

I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who has severely damaged hair or uses a lot of hair styli g tools. It will help bring back that 'i just went to the salon ' look without having to spend the big bucks!

Walmart Grocery Pickup Review

Monday 8 May 2017

Hey Guys,

As a mom to a toddler, i am always trying to find ways to simplify my life. Grocery shopping with a two and half year old can be an amazing experience or one where i want to ditch my cart and just go home. Since we live in an apartment, winter is mostly spent inside since there isnt much outdoor play area for him. Summer is when i like to maximize our time outside, so the less time i spend in the grocery store the better it is for all of us.
I will admit, when i first heard about Walmart's grocery pickup i was hesitant. Grocery pickup and delivery is not big in Canada. While the idea sounded intriguing, i wasn't sure if it was worth the extra few bucks, they charge $3 for this service and $10 to have it delivered to your house. I decided to test it out on a weekend i was busy.
I will say it was easy. I made my grocery list as i would any other week. I signed on to the walmart website and clicked on 'Buy groceries'. The great thing is they organize their groceries by category ( fruits, dairy, bakery etc). It took me less then 30 minutes to shop for everything and put it in my basket. After shopping they do ask if you want to substitute anything. If that item is out of stock in store, you are giving them permission to replace it with another brand. While you are shopping, if you pick an item that they are going to ship to your house (because the store doesn't carry it) they will notify you immediately.
You then pick the date and time slot that you want to pick up your groceries. All the time slots are an hour long, which gives you plenty of time to pick up your groceries. They do have an order minimum of $50 before taxes. You do need a credit card/debit credit to use this service. You go to the designated grocery pickup area, call the number listed and let them know which parking spot you are in.
They pack your groceries about an hour before your pickup time. After they have packed it, they will send you an email notifying you of any substitutions and at that time they will charge your credit card.

I love how easy and convenient this service is. I love being able to shop when I have free time. I don't have to worry about navigating the busy aisles and then standing in line, for however long. In the summertime we are busy running around, having people over and attending events. Whatever time we can spend at home relaxing, the better. They Pack your groceries an hour before which ensures that it is fresh. Don't worry, if you have ordered cold/frozen items they do have a fridge/freezer to store it till you come. The employees cone out within minutes of you calling, and are extremely polite. They do an excellent job bagging your groceries as well.

I don't like that their home delivery service costs $10, which is why i haven't opted to have the groceries delivered to my home. I hope canada realizes how convenient grocery delivery is, and reduces the cost. For now, i will continue to do grocery pickup at the store during my busy weekends.

Biore Baking Soda Cleanser Review

Monday 1 May 2017
Hey Guys!

I received a sample from Biore to try their Baking Soda Pore Cleanser. I already use Biore during the spring and summer months, since during that time I have oily skin. When i received this in the mail I was excited to try it and see how it matched up against my charcoal cleanser.

The claims:
Gently exfoliate
Remove dirt and impurities
Baking soda is the 'secret weapon' for clean pores

My Review
I tried this and i fell in love. It doesn't seem like biore makes one bad product! I love how it was able to clean deep into my pores, leaving my skin feeling refreshed. An added bonus was the fact that it gently exfoliates. I will say, do not expect to get the same results as using just an exfoliator. This cleanser is much more gentle and i would say the most it would exfoliate compared to an exfoliator is about 50%. With that being said it does everything it claims to do.
While it worked wonders on my skin I can definetly see this working great for people who have combination skin. It controls oil/shine while removing dry skin and gently removing dead skin.

It retails for $7.97 in Canada, which is around the same price as their other cleansers.

My Rating

I would give this product a 8/10.
The price point is amazing and lives up to their claims. While i did enjoy using it, I do need something that will exfoliate better if I am getting a 2 in 1 type of product. This product is easily accessible, you can purchase it at an drug store or big box store, which is convenient.
